STORAGE FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT: the physical characteristics of storeroom promote effective and efficient operations, a logical locator system, and minimize loss of value
MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: treating the MRO inventory as an investment with proper planning and analysis of min/max levels, order quantities, and obsolescence identification
MAINTENANCE COORDINATION: communication of critical information to manage parts’ life cycles, pre-plan for upcoming demands, manage vendors, and provide a no-stock-out level of service
ORGANIZATION & MANAGEMENT: an organizational structure and managerial processes which support the effective and efficient management of the work to be accomplished
TRAINING & SKILLS: insuring that the approaches, methods, and processes are well understood and employees are cross-trained
INFORMATION SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY: systems to capture, process, store, retrieve, and analyze MRO materials data
STOREROOM OPERATIONS: all of the activities related to the storage, handling, and movement of MRO inventory
PROCUREMENT COORDINATION: clear communication and coordination with the other members of the supply chain
